Jason L. Welty, Appointed to Deputy Executive Director

Last week, Florida Clerks of Court Operations Corporation’s long-time Deputy Executive Director, Douglas Isabelle, retired. We are proud and joyful to announce the promotion of Jason L. Welty to this position.

Jason joined the CCOC in July 2018 and has contributed extensive budget, communications, and legislative experience to the CCOC team. During the 2021 Legislative Session, Jason played an integral role in crafting some long-term solutions for the clerks’ rollercoaster budgets and lobbying for pandemic-related funding to help clerks better serve their constituents. He has been an asset to the CCOC team, and we are excited to see all that he accomplishes in his new position.

Jason was the lead staff for the Budget, Legislative, and Revenue Enhancement Committees. He was the primary contact for budget and revenue questions, information requests, and CCOC’s point person for traditional media information and social media outreach. Jason will miss his role in the Budget Committee. He will transition to the Performance Improvement and Efficiencies (PIE) committee while dabbling in the revenue projections and expanding his attention on the Revenue Enhancement Committee and the Legislative Committee.

Before his time at CCOC, he served in the Florida House of Representatives, The Florida Senate, the Governor’s office, and two state agencies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public affairs.

When asked what he is most looking forward to in his new position, Jason stated, “I’m most excited about expanding my knowledge base of the clerk universe. I’ve been here almost three years and worked in the justice system for 15 years, and I feel like I’m just scratching the surface of understanding the clerks’ duties. I’ll be more involved with the PIE committee in this new role. With my knowledge of the clerk budget process, I’ll learn more about the operational information (case outputs and performance measures) tie into the workload that clerks face daily. It will make me a better advocate for the clerks as we prepare for an early session next year.” Please join us in congratulating Jason on his recent promotion to Deputy Executive Director.
