Jason L. Welty Appointed as Jefferson County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller

Tallahassee, FL – Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Jason Welty as the new Clerk of Court and Comptroller for Jefferson County on November 10, 2023, and Welty assumed the role on November 13, 2023. He will begin his new role on November 13, 2023.
Welty has over 18 years of experience in public administration, including his position as Deputy Executive Director at the Clerks of Court Operations Corporation (CCOC), as well as time spent in the legislative and executive branches of state government.
“I am honored and humbled that Governor DeSantis selected me to be the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Jefferson County,” said Welty. “I promise to carry out the clerk’s duties fairly, efficiently, and transparently. I will work hard every day to serve the people of Jefferson County with integrity. I want to thank Governor DeSantis for giving me this incredible opportunity.”

About the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office
The Jefferson County Clerk’s Office is responsible for various services, including recording and maintaining land records, issuing marriage licenses and birth and death certificates, and processing passport applications. The Clerk’s Office also serves as the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas and the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners.
